ISRAELI MILITARY CHIEF SENDS WARNING TO HEZBOLLAH

The Israel’s military head visited the country’s northern border with Lebanon earlier as much tensions persist between the Israel Defence Forces and Hezbollah.

There were further strikes across the border, which led to IDF sending tanks and helicopters into Lebanon to attack Hezbollah facilities.

Hezbollah spokesman Hassan Fadlallah said earlier fighting was increasing in stringency and that Israeli actions illustrated a “new escalation” to which the group was responding with new tactics of attacks, be it “in the nature of the weapons used or the targeted sites”

Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi said “we need to return to a different situation, and return to both safety and a sense of security”.

He said Israel was skilled dealing with the situation militarily, but that this should not be the priority.

“It needs to end with a very, very clear change in the situation.”

The IDF shared a further update almost immediately after putting out Lt Gen Halevi’s comments, stating that a “suspicious aerial target” had been fired into Israel by Lebanon.
